What Inspired you to pursue acting?
I was a quiet kid. My immigrant parents thought putting me in acting classes would get me out of my shell. To their surprise, I fell in love with acting and I felt bravest while on stage. I joined drama clubs, participated in all the school musicals, and eventually got my degree in Theatre Performance at Simon Fraser University. Now I inspire kids to fall in love with performing at Ivy Speech Arts Academy, a school I started with my husband, Fane Tse.
What is your dream role?
I think having a sense of humour is so important…in acting and life in general! My dream role would be in an ensemble sitcom like Modern Family or Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I’ve been fortunate to play several comedic roles, but I am truly interested in exploring the full range of what a comedy can be. Not only the laughs, but also the pain, hardships and vulnerability in the character.
