The film was theatrically released via Cineplex Pictures across Canada on March 22. He has appeared as the lead in several short films, including Chand, Sweet Tooth and My Father’s Name and, most recently, he made an appearance in the 17th season of Murdoch Mysteries.
What Inspired you to pursue acting?
I first had a full-fledged acting experience in my high school’s grade nine drama class, and I’d say it was that experience that inspired me to purse acting. I think it was the combination of having a knack for the thing, and both my peers and teachers’ acknowledgement of that, plus that sense of feeling free to express myself in an unburdened and unabashed way that made me feel like I had the world in the palm of my hands. I’ve been captivated by acting ever since, though the courage to pursue it committedly didn’t start taking root until my first year of university.
What is your dream role?
My dream roles are any role that enthralls whatever it is in me that finds it unbearably meaningful to act and challenges me both to become a better actor and expand the horizons of my humanity. And then I’d say: roles that reach somewhere into people and connect them with themselves somehow, and roles that maybe even serve to expand our collective civilizational lore of relationships and behaviour. P.S. anything from the troubled protagonist of a coming-of-age independent film to vast sagas like Dune. I want to do it all!!!
